  1. As I read the passages I was confronted with the nature of my sin. While they may not be so obvious to the world, they are sins because they undermine his Lordship in my life. When, for example, I don’t trust him fully, when I put my work and “me time” ahead of time spent with him, or when I am concerned about looking good in the eyes of others, I let other “gods” come before Him. These sins eat away at the peace in my life and erode my relationship with Christ. I have to be intentional about recognizing and confessing them. As David says in Psalm 32, “When I kept silent… my strength was sapped. Then I acknowledged my sin to you… I said, ‘I will confess,’… and you forgave the guilt of my sin.”
